Dr. Swartz received his undergraduate education at William and Mary in  Williamsburg, VA and Indiana University, Bloomington.  He earned a master degree Physiology and Biophysics from Indiana University prior to entering medical school.

He has been in private practice serving Nashville, TN from 2001 to 2008, and serving Madison/Huntsville/Decatur since 2008.  His office is currently located at Madison Behavioral and Diagnostic Treatment Services on Slaughter Road in Madison, AL.  He accepts BCBS, Cigna, American Behavioral Health, Behavioral Health Systems, Tricare, and Medicare.  Other insurance plans may be reimbursable out of network.

Private Practice 

 After completing medical school at Indiana University, Dr. Swartz pursued a psychiatry residency at George Washington Hospital in Washington D.C. Following his residency, he  completed a Child and Adolescent fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where he was head fellow in 2001. This 2 year program further develops clinical skills in treatment of mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
